LM- 4 alloy has fair castibility but generally inferior to LM- 6 and ADC – 12 alloys. Good electrical conductivity accounts for wide usage in electrical engineering industries. In general LM- 4 aluminium alloys are less susceptible to change in temperature than are other base alloys. LM- 4 alloys are leveled to relatively small and heavy sectioned castings. This alloy must be produced from high purity virgin aluminium for the best casting results.
